Time and Death

Honestly, when we hear the name, I don't think many of us truly grasp or feel its significance. I want us all to become more aware of certain things when we talk about death and the time that is passing. Speaking of time, to see it in a concrete way, simply open a timer video and sit in front of it. While you can watch time pass by, become aware of the time that’s slipping away. Sit down and think about how you’re spending your life, what or who you’re dedicating your time to, and how you actually want to spend your time, your life. Reflect on this.
Maybe for some of us, the thought that will come to mind is not 'how we want it' but 'how it should be.' That is, the things society imposes on us, such as graduating from university, having a high income, saving money, owning property, and so on. Now, let’s think about these. One of the situations that stresses us the most during our youth is our education. We spend our years prioritizing this, making efforts and sacrifices, but is it really worth forgetting to live for a period that has an end? The same applies to wanting to save money or 'own things.' In our health and youth, we all work and save so that we can have what we want in the future and live a comfortable life. But we’re wrong! In the system we’re in, the system we were born into, we forget our true selves. While we could dedicate ourselves to our faith, while we could be servants of Allah, we become slaves to the community. I’m not saying we should not study or work, our heads should forever bowed in prayer. No, that’s not what I mean. I just want us to know the value of time. Let’s know why we are in this time, what our purpose of existence is (which is common for everyone), and let’s have the strength and awareness to discover our true selves, so that our circumstances and the environment around us do not make us weak.
Fate is in love with effort, of course, we will strive in our world. After all, isn’t anything done for the sake of Allah counted as worship for a believer? What I want to convey here is that, since Allah has already promised and guaranteed our sustenance, and we are already striving for it, why this haste? Allah has promised our sustenance, but He entrusted our faith to us. Why don’t we put as much effort into our faith as we do for something that has a guarantee? It seems that, in the time flowing by, there is much that we overlook in our diminishing lives. As it’s mentioned in the Quran, 'It is not the eyes that are blind, but the hearts in the breasts' (Surah Al-Hajj, 46). Perhaps our hearts are no longer the same as before. This is why we should review our lifestyle and think about how the things we do will reflect on us in the Hereafter, and how we can better spend our remaining time to earn Allah's pleasure before it's too late. I know this has become a topic that disturbs peace and comfort a little, but I am here for this purpose :) I hope I have touched your heart. May you be entrusted to Allah.
